The Gospel of Matthew

DAY 9 OF 30

Ask Again

Matthew 8 is filled with stories of healing and power—lepers cleansed, storms silenced, demons cast out. Many of these people had been suffering for years. They had likely asked for help countless times. Yet when Jesus came near, they asked again. They didn’t let past disappointment keep them from present faith.

But how many others stayed silent? How many thought, “Why bother? I’ve asked 400 times and nothing’s changed.” Maybe you’ve been there—tired of praying, discouraged by silence, tempted to give up hope. We often stop asking because we think, “If it wasn’t possible then, it probably won’t happen now.” But God doesn’t deal in the probable—He works in the impossible.

Faith doesn’t mean ignoring pain. It means bringing it to Jesus again and again—no matter how many times before felt unanswered. Healing and breakthrough come to those who persist, who reach out one more time, who dare to believe that Jesus still moves in power.

Respond to God’s Word:

What area of pain or fear have you stopped praying about? Bring it to Jesus again today. He hears you. He sees you. And He’s not finished yet.
