Refresh My Soul: Discovering God’s Promises for a Purposeful Life

ỤBỌCHỊ 27 NKE 30

Day 27: From Worn Out to Worship

Hannah had nothing left. For years, she prayed for a child, but her womb remained empty. To make matters worse, she was taunted and misunderstood, even by those closest to her. Her soul crushed, she did the only thing she could—she brought her brokenness to God.

In 1 Samuel 1:10–18, we watch her move from deep anguish to quiet strength. She didn’t wait for her miracle to worship—she worshiped in the midst of her pain. And something shifted. Her heart was lifted even before her situation changed: "Her face was no longer downcast” (1 Samuel 1:18 NIV).

Worship became her bridge from weariness to hope. Later, when God answered her prayer and gave her a son, she named him Samuel—"because I asked the Lord for him." But Hannah’s story didn’t end with her miracle. Her journey reminds us that renewal begins not at the moment of breakthrough, but at the altar of surrender.

“My heart rejoices in the Lord! The Lord has made me strong... No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God” (1 Samuel 2:1-2 NLT).

When we are worn out—mentally, emotionally, spiritually—it’s tempting to disconnect, to withdraw, or to press through in our own strength. But worship offers a better way. Worship is not just about singing songs; it’s about surrendering our heaviness to the One who can carry it.

We can bring our pain to God and find peace in His presence. Worship only, and ask for an honest heart. As we lift our eyes to Him, even in exhaustion, we begin to experience the deep refreshing of His Spirit. It is in that sacred exchange that we go from worn out…to worship…to renewed.

APPLICATION

When you feel drained, pause and worship. Give God your heaviness and receive His peace.

  • PRAY
Lord, I’m tired. I come to You now, not with answers, but with worship. I will choose worship over worry—even when I feel worn out. Amen.
  • SAY
When I am weary, I worship. God renews me as I rest in His presence.
  • ASK
How can I respond with worship instead of worry?
