What inspires you to help others? Is it hoping for some reward? Or, does helping others just feel so natural that to not help would make you feel “off”? Knowing the motivation behind our actions can be tricky. Maybe you do service hours at school, because the person you like will be there or you’re dragged there by parents. We begin to mature in our faith when we are motivated not by some external reward but by knowing that Jesus loved us first. Our help should show that we are for other people. Today, pray about this verse and how you can grow to know that God loved us first so we can love other people better.
