Holiness
1 Peter 1:15
“But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do.”
It is our relationship with God that motivates us to pursue holiness in all that we do. God called us, set us free from penalty of sin, saved us and calls us His own. Our choices to live holy lives testify that we have been changed, and that we are grateful to God for His life in us. The power of the Holy Spirit and daily counsel of God’s word are essential to walk in holiness. We purify ourselves by obeying the truth of God’s Word. The Holy Spirit reminds us and convicts us so that we live according to God’s Word. The standard of holiness is for every follower of Jesus Christ and sets us apart from the world around us. We witness to the reality of God and His saving power by being holy – not just through our presentations of the gospel.
Lord Jesus, I choose holiness this day. Guide me by your Holy Spirit and your Word to live for you.
