Our Peace
Micah 5:2, 4-5a
“Out of you will come for me One who will be ruler over Israel…He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth. And he will be their peace.”
Jesus came to do his Father’s will. He came on behalf of the Father. As the Father sent Jesus, so Jesus is sending us. We too must be focused on the Father’s will above all else, even the needs in this world. Jesus’ strength to shepherd came from the Father. Jesus gives us His Father’s name, glory, and word as he sends us into the world to also serve as shepherds. Our message and ministry is to proclaim through words and deeds that the Prince of Peace has come. Jesus has reconciled all things in heaven and on earth to the Father through his shed blood on the cross. Peace with God and each other are now possible.
Lord Jesus, you are my shepherd and my peace. Fill me with your Spirit and life again today for your glory.
