Listening To The Word - 1 YearSampel

The Battle and Victory is the Lord’s
2 Chronicles 20:15, 17
“He said, ‘Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s…You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you…”
These prophetic words of hope and strategy are repeated in Israel’s history several times. God calls his people out of fear and discouragement, to a place of faith and full dependency on him.
These words of deliverance were heard in a place of repentance and full surrender to God. Jehoshaphat and all Judah turned their eyes and full attention toward the Lord.
What would have happened had they tried to fight this battle themselves?
What happens to us when we fight flesh and blood?
In the spiritual battles in the lives of disciples of Jesus, the principles of full surrender to God, and dependency on his victory are similar. We stand firm in our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. We do not fear or live in discouragement – our God has won the victory.
Lord Jesus, I surrender all to you. Thank you for your deliverance and victory over sin and death. My life is yours.
