Jesus spent His time with those who most needed to be helped or shown love and grace- if we truly are people who live for the coming kingdom, we need to show compassion to the people that most need to be told they are worthy of love. There are lots of people in the world who need to be shown compassion and empathy- almost to a paralyzing extent. The best way to truly have empathy and compassion for people is to be in direct relationship with them. If you aren't already connected to a ministry to serve the less fortunate, ask God to help you find a ministry to devote your time to.
