Di tengah jalan Ia bertanya kepada murid-murid-Nya, kata-Nya: ”Kata orang, siapakah Aku ini?” Jawab mereka: ”Ada yang mengatakan: Yohanes Pembaptis, ada juga yang mengatakan: Elia, ada pula yang mengatakan: seorang dari para nabi.” Ia bertanya kepada mereka: ”Tetapi apa katamu, siapakah Aku ini?” Maka jawab Petrus: ”Engkau adalah Mesias!”
