To view this video, visit your plan at www.youversion.com] OUTSIDE AND INSIDE As he lay there at the feet of Jesus unable to move, it was obvious what the problem was. It was plain for all to see. Along with everyone else, Jesus observed the man on the outside, but he also knew what the man was like on the inside. So what did he do? He dealt with both problems. He sorted the obvious external need the man had, but he also dealt with his hidden, internal need too. He forgave the man’s sins and in so doing gave him a fresh start – inside and out! Jesus knows us inside out too. Exactly. Ah. That’s not so good. All that stuff that we keep hidden. He knows. All those thoughts we have. He knows. And those things we say and do that we regret. He knows. But he still loves us and, amazingly, he wants to forgive us and change us on the inside to be the very best for him – the people God intended us to be. Try the ancient method of ‘breath prayers’, quietly together. Close your eyes and be calm, as you start to feel the rhythm of your breathing. Repeat the phrase silently, over and over, for about a minute (or longer, if you’re all at ease with the stillness).
