Have you ever been in a moment where you were the only one upset while everyone else's life seemed perfect? There are moments when you might feel all alone and isolated, and as you scroll through your social feeds, the images you see seem to show you a story that is the complete opposite of your life. 

That is how life feels sometimes for people who follow Jesus. We sometimes look around and see those without Jesus living a life full of happiness while we experience grief and sadness. Aren't we the ones with hope? Isn't this supposed to be the right life to live? Why is the world having a party while we are stuck feeling like things aren't getting any better despite how we live?

In today's verses, Jesus addressed this contrast in life to His disciples. To the disciples, it looked like evil people were getting what they wanted—destroying Jesus. But the story didn’t end there. As promised, their grief and sadness would be replaced by joy when Jesus conquered death!

No matter what comes through the door of life, we will experience grief and sadness at times when the world seems to be having a party. Don't be fooled by the highlight reel; change is coming.
