Matthew gives clear recognition and distinction to the power and authority of Jesus. Many miracles and healings were done by the power of God. Jesus had this authority as the Son of God, yet He still chose to delegate the power as seen when He sends out disciples to do mighty works in His name. We see that when the disciples return, Jesus draws their hearts back to a place of humility and the understanding that it has nothing do with them, but rather it is God’s goodness.
