For to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy, which will be for all the people.

“Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth, good will among men.”

And Jesus advanced in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and men.

This will be the sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

In the same region there were shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.
