For nothing is impossible with God.”

Then Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; may it happen to me according to yoʋr word.” And the angel left her.

The angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon yoʋ, and the power of the Most High will overshadow yoʋ; therefore the holy child that is to be born will be called the Son of God.

Blessed is she who has believed, for what the Lord has spoken to her will be fulfilled.”

And behold, yoʋ will conceive in yoʋr womb and give birth to a son, and yoʋ shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for yoʋ have found favor with God.
