His Best—Our Blessing
In the strictest of terms, Jesus as “Lord” is our Owner—even as serfs under ancient landlords were at the mercy of the owner of the fiefdom. They could be rewarded if he were benevolent, exploited if he were selfish.
Our submission to Jesus’ lordship holds no uncertainty in that regard. As the One who holds the power over those submitted to Him, He delights to bless and protect, to prosper and enrich all who acknowledge His lordship.
Jesus our Lord wants to bless you. He wants to rule in your life to protect you from foolishness and evil, and to fulfill your highest possibilities. That’s Christ’s lordly style, and that’s why He wants your submission. True submission makes way for His best to become our blessing!
