It is finished

What a somber text for today. I wonder what Jesus’s followers thought when they watched Him hang His head and take His final breath. They must have felt a sense of defeat when Jesus exclaimed “It is finished!”. They probably thought it was all over. “What now?”. “Who will lead us now?”. “Are we next?”. “Is this the end?”

Little did they know this was the beginning of something so amazing. If they only knew what was to come after this, they may have been rejoicing. We can’t always see past our situation. It’s easy to dwell on the moment and not trust that God has the final say. Remember this when your situation seems unbearable. Remember, this was only the beginning.

Pray: God remind me to trust in Jesus, our Grave-Conquering Savior.
