This Is The Heart Of Living Open

What do you think of when you hear the word accountability? If you’re like most people, you probably think of something negative, like punishment or reparations for wrongdoing. Too often when we think about openness and accountability, these are the things that leap to mind.

But that’s not all that accountability is, especially when it comes to an accountability relationship. Sure, there’s a part of it that requires calling out your partner when they mess up, but more than that, there’s a great opportunity to rejoice with them when they succeed at the goals they’ve set for themselves.

This is really the heart of living an open life: finding the joy and celebrating it. Because honestly, the chances are great that living an open life is going to lead to far more celebrations than chastisements.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for wanting good things for me! Help me to look for and celebrate all the good things in my life, the goodness that You have brought about. I thank You for pairing me with someone who can call those good things out and rejoice alongside me. Amen
