We’ve talked about how we need other people in our lives, and we’ve talked about how one of the reasons we need them is as a means of confession. But that’s not the only reason we need people, and it’s not the only reason we need openness and accountability.

As we read today, other people help us deepen ourselves through encouragement. We can build one another up as we walk the road of accountability together, motivating each other to take that next step… and then the next one… and the next one.

When we do this, we are participating with our accountability partner in a richer, more rewarding life, all the while building a stronger faith. This is the beauty of openness.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for encouraging us through each other; for letting us embody Your encouragement as we walk together on this journey toward a life that is more opened up. Guide our words and our hearts as we motivate one another to live a full life, the life You desire for us. Amen.
