Day 17: God Will Do a New Thing

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”– Isaiah 43:19 NIV

Affirmation
God will do a new thing in my life.

Devotion
It’s time to let go of the old—old habits, doubts, setbacks, failures, and disappointments. These things may have been part of your journey, but they do not define your destination. God is ready to lead you into a new season.

How do we embrace it?

• Surrender to God’s will:Begin by praying,“Not my will, Lord, but Yours.”Ask Him to close doors that no longer serve His purpose in your life and to open the doors that align with His plan. Today’s scripture assures us that God is already making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland—He is carving out a new path for you.
• Leave old ways behind:There’s a poem about walking down the same street, falling into the same hole, and finally deciding to walk a different way. If you’ve been stuck in repeating cycles—whether sin, mistakes, or destructive patterns—now is the time to take a different path. Be intentional about breaking free and following God’s way.

God is ready to do something new in your life. But you must take the first step—surrender, turn away from the old, and trust Him to lead you forward.

Prayer
Abba Father,

I come before You with praise and adoration, for You are a great and almighty God. Today, I let go of my past—my failures, my mistakes, and all choices that are not pleasing to You. I surrender my life completely and ask that You close every door not in alignment with Your will.

Renew me and make me whole. Order my steps in Your Word so I may walk in the path You have designed for me. Strengthen me, Lord, and give me the grace to obey, so I can fulfill the calling and purpose You have placed on my life. It is in Jesus Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
