Day 18: God Will Fight for You

Scripture
“Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today… The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:13–14 NIV

Affirmation
God will fight for me.

Devotion
God fights for you. This means you don’t have to battle as the world does—you can fight through prayer and by wielding your sword, the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17). Praise is another powerful weapon. When we lift our voices in worship, our prayers move heaven and earth, and God works on our behalf.

No matter what you are facing, victory is already yours in Christ. You are simply walking through the process as you pray and trust Him. The story of Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20 illustrates this truth. When faced with a vast army, Jehoshaphat proclaimed a fast and sought the Lord in prayer. He acknowledged God’s sovereignty and confessed his own weakness, concluding with a powerful declaration: “…but our eyes are on You!”

In response, the Spirit of the Lord spoke:

1. Do not be afraid or discouraged.
2. The battle is not yours but God’s.
3. Stand firm and see the deliverance of the Lord.
4. Do not lose heart.
5. The Lord is with you!

As Jehoshaphat and the people praised God, their enemies were defeated. Their victory came not by their strength but by God’s power.

Prayer
Abba Father,

I praise You, for You are a great and almighty God. Through the power of Your Word, I trust You to fight for me. You have said that I need only to stand still and see Your salvation. You know what I am facing and what has come against me. Today, I stand in the authority You have given me and declare victory in every area of my life, especially in [state request].

Remind me that the battle is not mine but Yours. Teach me to stand still, trust Your promises, and resist worldly ways. Let my actions align with Your will so that when victory comes, all glory belongs to You. It is in Jesus Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
