Day 4: Generous Love Beyond Convenience
After healing the leper, Jesus warned him not to spread the news too widely. Why? Because Jesus knew that once word got out, crowds would overwhelm Him, making His ministry difficult. And yet, Jesus healed the leper anyway.
This moment reveals the generosity of Jesus’ love. He does not weigh the cost before offering His mercy. He does not heal only when it is easy. Instead, He gives freely, even knowing it will create challenges for Him. The cross is the ultimate example of this truth: Jesus endured suffering, shame, and even death for our sake. His love goes beyond convenience; it is sacrificial, abundant, and generous.
Too often, our love for others is measured and careful. We love when it’s comfortable or when it suits us. But Jesus shows us a better way. He calls us to love generously, even when it costs us time, comfort, or convenience. When we love like Christ, we reflect His heart to the world.
Let His generous love shape you today. Receive it as a gift and let it flow through you to others.
