Day 8: Repent and Believe
When Jesus began His ministry, His first call was simple: “Repent and believe in the Gospel” (Mark 1:15). Repentance is not just about turning from sin but about changing our way of thinking, feeling, and acting. Nowhere is this more important than in how we approach serving.
Often, we see serving as an obligation or chore. But repentance allows us to see it as a privilege. We shift our mindset from “I have to serve” to “I get to serve the God of heaven and earth.” Our hearts then begin to delight in offering even small acts of love to others. And our behavior changes as we give God our hands, our talents, our energy, and our time to build His kingdom.
Repentance transforms service from duty into joy, from box-checking into kingdom-building. When our hearts are changed, even ordinary acts of service: opening a door, offering a smile, lending a hand - become opportunities for God’s Spirit to work through us.
Questions
- How does your current mindset about serving need to shift?
- What small, ordinary act of service can you offer today with great love?
