Unity of the Body
There is no question Jesus’ prayer for unity is for greater reasons than mere togetherness. He knew the flow of His power would only be diminished by any fragmentation of His Body. His focus on His Body’s unity was not political but practical—that all the world with all its need might have all He has to give through all His people!
That’s why we are wise to pursue so complete a passion for Him that it melts any obstacles between us and any who love Him. A passion for God’s fullness brings a loving willingness to learn greater love for all the members of His vast family.
