Bro Code Devotional: Part 2 of 3Exemple

Dear Lord,
I am so thankful for my wife and our marriage. She and our marriage are gifts, and I value it because I love the Gift Giver –You. You know I've not always acted to show my love, and I thank You for Your grace.
Our marriage endures because of our covenant with You. Father, I pray for our married brothers to see the significance of their own covenants between their wives and You. Father, show our brothers the power of a covenant, and that it is not a simple "contract" that can be broken.
Lord, show our brothers that while a contract generally has a term limit, covenants are eternal. Contracts are designed as a way for both parties to "get" something, covenants are filled by Your grace. Contracts deal with an "if...then" mentality.
The first step to divorce-proofing their marriage is to stop thinking of their union as an "if...then," and start thinking in terms of eternity.
Amen
