Five Meaningful Life Lessons From the Book of Ecclesiastes

Jour 5 sur 6

[IMAGE CONTENT] LIFE PRINCIPLE #5: FEAR GOD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS So, what does Ecclesiastes tell us about how to lead a meaningful life? How should we live correctly? Finally, what is the concluding statement of Ecclesiastes? First, I can't resist sharing the concluding statement of Monty Python's 1983 British-American comedy film, "The Meaning of Life," in which Monty, like Solomon, searches for life's meaning. The film concludes by saying: > "Well, it's nothing very special. Try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations." Indeed some good advice, but "The Conclusion of the Matter" in Ecclesiastes is that we must respect and obey God. Humanity's duty to lead a meaningful life is to keep His commandments. In the end, God will judge everything we've done, whether good or bad. Thankfully, Christians receive forgiveness of sin and eternal life through the blood of Christ. Still, we will appear before His judgment seat. Therefore, we need to have a proper relationship with God and keep Him at the center of our life. Are you living your life under the teachings of God's Word? Solomon gives us sound advice. We would be wise to fear God and keep His commandments. How many commandments can you remember?
