14 Days to Integrating Faith and FitnessExemple

Growing Your Community
We learned yesterday that Jesus calls us the “light of the world,” (Matthew 5:14), but how do we shine that light? It starts at “home,” in the community where you find yourself.
God has placed you in a community. Whether that community is triathletes, baseball players, CrossFitters, or e-gamers, you have the opportunity to be “the light of the world” among them. And your opportunity is one that you have. Not your pastor, your mentor, or some televangelist. This is your responsibility, because God has given you the same passion as those you’re around. And as you share similar passions, over time you earn the right to be heard. Your influence grows as you consistently invest in those around you.
In other words, your day-to-day consistency is what Jesus likens to planting seeds. You’re not sure which ones will sprout, but it’s not your job to determine which will grow. Scatter seeds, water them, and shine your light on them. Then watch God do what He does.
