Who is God?
God is the loving Creator and sustainer of everything. He is eternal and unchanging in his goodness, wisdom, and power.
Have you ever stood in awe at the beauty of the world around you: the high, snow-capped mountains or the soothing streams; the shining sun; the bright moon; or the beauty of a butterfly?
Have you ever wondered how it all got here? Or, more importantly, why it’s all here?
The Bible says that God spoke and the heavens were created, and that he breathed the stars into existence. What a creative and powerful God! He created the heavens and the earth—all that you see, and all that you can’t. Did you know that he created it all to reflect his goodness and glory?
The Bible tells us in Psalm 19 and Psalm 146 that the beautiful, ordered creation around us says something about God. It tells us that God is powerful. It tells us that God is creative. It tells us that God is good. And it tells us that God is beautiful.
Psalm 19 says that the whole creation sings and shouts about how glorious God is! But, how often do you stop to enjoy it? Do you pause to appreciate its beauty and glory? Have you ever whispered a thank you to God for all that he created?
The world is amazing, and it sings about God’s glory. Don’t miss it!
Today, make a list of things God has made that you love. Take some time just to thank him for what he has created. Thank him for caring for and sustaining you and the world around you.
