We are so grateful for Your presence, and we come to You today filled with anticipation and hope. Make us more aware of Your presence today as we notice You in every sacred moment. We love You. Amen. Over the past few days, I mentioned that the “check engine” light came on in my car because I neglected to fill up my fuel tank. A few wise words from a mechanic and a reset of the indicator put me back on the road to my future. I began to reflect on why I had ignored my personal “fuel gauge.” Honestly, I had many excuses but the truth was, I was preoccupied with so many things in my life that I ignored something that should have been so obvious – my need for fuel! I turned a blind eye to the empty state of my fuel tank because I was too busy to notice. What a sad commentary on my life! My friend, what are you ignoring in your life right now? What are you missing because your mind and heart are distracted? I have found that when I am present in the moment, I notice what needs to be noticed! As we focus our minds on Jesus in this sacred moment, let’s notice the presence of God as we sit quietly and worship Him. I love the following verses about the power of presence, solitude, and worship. I pray they encourage your heart right now. “This then is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in His presence, whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts and He knows everything.” (1 John 3:19 - 20, NIV) “ This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength…” (Isaiah 30:15, NIV) “Exalt the Lord our God and worship at His footstool; He is holy.” (Psalm 99:5, NIV) “Yet You are enthroned as the Holy One; You are the one Israel praises.” (Psalm 22:3, NIV) If you need to reset your spiritual “check engine” light today OR if you need spiritual fuel to power you into God’s purpose and plan today, never ignore your need for the presence of God, the power of solitude, and the passion of worship.
