Always, Always, Stand With Israel

Of all the nations on earth, Israel has faced enemies since God chose that land and its people as His own. A country the size of New Jersey in the United States has held its own for centuries. Many times it has fallen under attack, and to this day, it makes headlines over recent events.

We should always stand with Israel because, according to scripture, it was called by God to seat the kingship of David, and one day the Messiah (Jesus) will rule in the ‘"New Jerusalem." The promised land is like the seal of the covenant between Abraham and God.

As we read through the Old Testament, it doesn’t take long to realize that God punished His chosen people more than once because of their wickedness. He is calling all mankind to turn from sin and walk upright before Him.

Other reasons to stand for Israel:

· It is the apple of God’s eye. Zachariah 2:8

· God will bless those who bless this nation, and curse those who curse it. Genesis 12:3

· God calls us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Psalm 122:6

· Those nations that refuse to serve God’s chosen nation will perish. Isaiah 60:12

· The Israelites are heirs of God’s adoption, glory, covenants, law, worship, and promises. Romans 9:4

· The Gentiles (that is, those who are not Jewish, but accept Jesus as Savior) are also heirs, partakers of Jesus' promise of salvation. Ephesians 3:6

“On that day, his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem. And the Mount of Olives will split apart, making a wide valley running from east to west. Half the mountain will move toward the north and half toward the south.” Zachariah 14:4. NLT

Prayer: Father, a lot of blood has been shed over Your chosen land, and from scripture, we realize more will be shed. We pray for those who inhabit Your land that their eyes will be open to Messianic Truth and that Jews and Christians all over the world will walk upright before You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
