The Bible's Business Plan

DAY 20 OF 31

“I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.” Luke 19:26 NIV

BUSINESS BIBLE

The Bible records how good stewards earn 2X, 5X, 10X, and 100X return on investment. In the Parable of the Minas, Luke records Jesus’ story of a man investing 10 minas with 10 stewards, or managers.[1] In Hebrew, a mina is 1/60th the value of a talent, equivalent to more than $50,000 (USD).

Two of the stewards diversify their investments and earn 5X & 10X! Jesus says, “Well done, good and faithful steward. Enter the joy of the Lord!” Stewards who multiply their investments are rewarded with recognition, more capital to invest, and experience joy! Another steward returns the mina. Jesus says, "You worthless steward, why did you not put my money in the bank, and when I came back, I would have collected it with interest?”[2] Stewards who do not multiply their investments are considered worthless. They fail to understand money is designed to multiply and don’t put it to work.

Then Jesus says, “Take the mina away from him and give it to the one who has the ten minas.”[3] Whatever they have is taken from them and given to the good stewards. This is how the rich get richer.

[1] Luke 19:11-26.

[3] Luke 19:24.
