In Here, Out There

DAY 2 OF 6

What Do You Know About Koinonia?

Koin-o-what now? Okay, fair. That’s a Greek word that means something really special.

Watch this video so you know what it is!

Just one word can sum up a special part of being in God’s family? Koinonia is a fantastic word everyone should know and love!

The very first people who believed Jesus is God’s Son and followed Him were called the early Church. They shared koinonia: They were together. They had each other, and they had God. They shared everything. They were devoted to Jesus and to one another. And no one was in need. They were a really good family.

The Church today can follow their example! God’s big family can love God and love others like the early Church did.

Remember: Every day of this Bible Plan, you get to read Matthew 22:37-39. There’s a surprise coming that goes along with the NIV translation of this Bible verse! (But that’s only if you can make it all the way to Day 6. You can do it! I’m your Bible Plan, and I believe in you!)

Pray: God, thank You for the beautiful example the early Church left for every one of Your followers. They showed us what a truly good family can be. Help me to live my life devoted to You and Your people—everywhere I go—so that everyone will want to be a part of Your family, too! In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan

In Here, Out There

What do you think of when you hear the word “church”? You might think of a place, like your local church building. But did you know the Church is more than that? When you choose to follow Jesus, you become part of God’s family, called the capital “C” Church. This six-day Bible Plan will help you share the love of Jesus everywhere you go with love, service, and cooperation.
