The First Letter of JohnNäide

We Have Come to Know the Love of God
Having visible proof of God, or knowing of God, isn’t how we abide in Him - rather it is experiencing His love. We “come to know” Him through His love. The terms ‘love’ and 'abide’ are used in tandem with one another in this passage. It is as if John is repeating the concept over and over - love leads to abiding, and abiding leads to love. The proof of an abiding relationship with God is loving Him and loving people. The proof of loving God and loving people is an abiding relationship with God. These two things are inseparable.
Devotional Question:
Spend a bit of time in worship and pray that God will cause you to experience His love for you and your family in the way you need most. An encounter with God changes everything. Simply spend time with God, basking in His love.
About this Plan

1 John is one of the most quoted books of the Bible, and for a good reason: John understood God’s love in a special way. As we explore the pages of this book, let that be our main goal: to understand the love of God better and better, and to grow closer to Him.
