The First Letter of JohnNäide

In The Beginning
We see John teaching a simple yet powerful truth: if you love God, then you will love people. If you love people, then you will love God. This is a beautiful cycle that we can think of as a positive feedback loop that ends up benefitting everyone who encounters you. And this isn’t for a few special individuals. It is for ‘everyone who believes’. Everyone with faith in God is on the way to this beautiful truth.
The commandments of God aren’t burdensome, meaning they aren’t difficult to obey. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. The idea is to ‘Come to Jesus’. The love will start following naturally as we gradually give way to it.
Devotional Question:
Have a fifteen-minute quiet moment with God, putting away every device and distraction. Simply love on God, be still with Him, and let Him give your soul some rest from all the burdens you carry.
About this Plan

1 John is one of the most quoted books of the Bible, and for a good reason: John understood God’s love in a special way. As we explore the pages of this book, let that be our main goal: to understand the love of God better and better, and to grow closer to Him.
