Planetshakers - Legacy

DAY 5 OF 5

Through It All Praise is powerful! Praise is the language of faith! Praise is supernatural! Praise is a precious gift to the Lord, especially when we are going through hard times. I often encourage myself to praise the Lord during difficulties because I understand these incredible principals and realise that this is my only opportunity to praise God in this way, this side of Eternity! The Bible talks about giving God a ‘sacrifice’ of praise because praise isn’t always easy. You don’t always feel like it but that should never hold you back! Wherever we go around the world we are always encouraging people to praise God no matter what they are facing. As people have allowed us to lead them in this way, we have seen so many miracles as a result. We encourage people to let go of their inhibitions and to shout, dance, clap their hands and sing praises to God. We’ve also encouraged them not to surrender to their natural ‘personality’ when praising God but instead, follow the pattern outlined clearly in God’s word. It has been amazing to see people who have decided to praise God loudly and passionately, experience heaviness and depression break off their lives. This shouldn’t surprise us. Hasn’t God promised to give us a ‘garment of praise’ for the ‘spirit of heaviness’? We have seen addictions broken, healing take place, hearts being mended and joy being restored- all because of the power of praise! Planetshakers has a reputation of exuberant praise and we will never tone that down. We want to continue to bring the sound of passionate praise all around the world because we understand the supernatural power of it. Remember when the walls of Jericho came tumbling down because the children of Israel, in obedience to the direction of the Lord, gave a great shout of praise? Or the time that Paul and Silas were in jail singing hymns and declaring the word of God when suddenly the prison doors were opened and the chains fell off of every prisoner in that place? Which brings me to my next point…praise not only sets YOU free, but also releases the kingdom of God on this earth, changing the atmosphere and setting OTHERS free. Now to me, that is a great reason to keep praising God no matter what we are facing. It releases others! That in itself is a great motivating factor! This is why the church needs to continue to praise God because it will release this generation from their captivity and see the kingdom of God come on Earth as it is in Heaven.
