We Speak Life One very important factor in seeing the kingdom of God become a reality in our lives is faith . Jesus talked about faith a lot. The disciples witnessed Jesus speaking words to an unfruitful fig tree that then shrivelled up in response. They were astonished with this demonstration of the power of His words! Jesus explained to them it wasn’t just the words that had an affect but the faith He had in those words to bring about change. He knew that His Father would move on His behalf as He spoke. Do you realize that we can have the same confidence? If we believe that God’s word in our mouths has the same power and authority as Jesus demonstrated, we will use our words more effectively. Instead of speaking out negative, destructive words, we will choose to use our words to speak life to every dead situation, health into every sick person, provision for those in lack and freedom to anyone bound. That’s exactly what we did in my son’s life a number of years ago as he suffered with severe eczema all over his body. Every day we spoke healing over him. I would constantly declare, “Jonathan you are healed in the name of Jesus!“ Each night before he went to sleep, we would pray together and I would declare the word of God over Jonathon’s body. I would encourage him to pray also as I knew the word needed to be in his own mouth. This went on for many months. We did all we could to make sure he ate the right foods and took the correct medications to ease some of the discomfort, all the while reaching out to God in faith and using our words to agree with His words, “ by His stripes we are healed”. Suddenly one morning, he woke up from his sleep completely healed of eczema! It was a wonderful moment for my son and a wonderful testimony to the faithfulness of our God. If you truly believe God’s word about healing, why not get that word in your mouth and use it to bring healing to your own life and others by faith? If we believe then we WILL receive and we WILL see the kingdom of God become a reality in our lives!
