Life's Big Questions: Devotions From Time Of GraceSample

What am I doing here?
In every board game I’ve ever played, it is absolutely vital that everyone starts out even. In the game of life, however, we all start out lost and confused, not knowing our Maker, ignorant of Christ our Savior, and without the Spirit. Sin is an equal opportunity disease — it has infected absolutely everybody. The Father’s grand scheme of creating a huge and loving family of children on earth went terribly awry.
He originally made us to enjoy our world, enjoy each other, and most of all to enjoy Him. Paul told a curious gathering of pagans in Athens: “From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being’” (Acts 17:26-28).
The restoration of our relationship with our God is the key to everything. The Word which makes that connection is near you. A loving Father is reaching out His hand to you — it is His desire that all who seek Him will find him.
He would also like you to be His smile, kindly voice, and outstretched hand to the lost, agnostics, atheists, pagans, and fallen-away former Christians in your life.
