Kong Hee: Navigating Through Life

DAY 4 OF 5

Think Your Age First Corinthians 13:11 says, “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” Your life as a Christian is just like growing up. Being a new Christian is like being a young child, and like all children, you too must grow up. Now, there is nothing wrong with being a child. Scripture even teaches that there are some ways in which you should always be like a child. First Corinthians 14:20 says, “… In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults.” This passage encourages you to be innocent as a child, but it also encourages you to think like an adult. As a Christian, thinking like an adult means taking time to prayerfully dwell on the things of God and understand them more fully. Children so often get scared, angry, or sad because they do not understand something. Their minds are young and they simply react to situations childishly. As you grow older as a Christian, you need to learn more and more from God’s Word and begin to respond to life’s situations like a mature adult who has learned wisdom from God. Prayer for the day: Today, ask God to help you grow in the knowledge of His truth by spending time in His Word. Pray that as you grow in Christian maturity, you will become an example and encouragement to others in their own growth process.
