Kong Hee: Navigating Through Life

DAY 3 OF 5

What Children Can Teach You There is so much to be learned from children. Psalm 127:3-5 says, “Children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them …” Does this verse make children sound like a burden or unimportant? No! On the contrary, Scripture teaches us that children are one of God’s greatest gifts! Why do you think God places so much value on children? There are certainly many reasons, but perhaps one of the most important reasons is because they are so full of joy! Think about that. Think about your own children, your grandchildren, your nieces or nephews, or maybe just some children that you know. One thing that all children do better than most Christian adults is that they find joy in God and delight in each day He gives them. Children in God’s family are not just kids to be taken care of, but important members of the body of Christ. God cares for children very much, and so should you. Strive to minister to children in the church. Show them the love of Christ and don’t be surprised when they teach you more about God’s love and joy than you teach them! Prayer for the day: Today, pray that you will learn to find as much joy in God and His gifts as children do. Ask God to help you be a good example of the gospel to the children in your life.
