The Pursuit - 12 WeeksSample

In John 3, Jesus tells Nicodemus that no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are “born again.” Our first birth gives us physical life, but our sin nature leaves us spiritually dead. We need a second birth—spiritual renewal through faith in Jesus.
This is the heart of the good news of the Bible. Salvation isn’t about trying harder or doing better. It’s not about behavior modification; it’s about transformation. It’s about being made new. John 3:16 captures it beautifully: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Being “born again” means starting fresh with God. It’s the end of your old life — your shame, guilt, and striving — and the beginning of a new one filled with His Spirit. You can’t earn it or produce it on your own. Just like physical birth, someone else does all the work. Jesus did that work for you on the cross.
Reflection:
What does being “born again” mean for you personally?
