Waiting for (Christ)masSample

How my friend missed 2(!!) flights š¬
Do you ever fall asleep while youāre waiting?
One of our team members (I wonāt name names š¤Ŗ) has a knack for dozing off at the worst times. Once, he fell asleep while waiting at the airport and missed his flight! He went to the desk, and after explaining his predicament, he got rebooked, but the next flight was not for several hours. Determined not to miss his second flight of the day, he tried to stay awake ābut the long layover got the better of him, and exhaustion took over⦠You guessed it; he missed the second flight as well š¤¦š»āāļø.
This reminds me of Jesusā parable of the ten virgins that fell asleep from Matthew 25.
They were all part of a wedding party and were supposed to wait for the bridegroom's arrival. But when he was delayed, all of them fell asleep while waiting. When the bridegroom finally arrived, they woke up, but only the five wise virgins, who had brought extra oil for their lamps, were allowed to enter the wedding. The foolish ones, who lacked oil, missed out.
The oil in this parable represents our relationship with Godāsomething only you can cultivate; it canāt be borrowed or rushed like the foolish virgins tried to do.
The key takeaway here is that ALL the virgins fell asleep, even the wise ones! As Christians, we are all at risk of falling asleep spiritually, losing touch with our faith or getting distracted by lifeās demands. Our task is to stay vigilant while awake, cultivating our oil by waiting on the Lord.
Jesus is our Bridegroom, and He is coming back! We want to be ready when He does (Ephesians 5:25-33 and Revelation 19:7-8).
Have you been feeling āspiritually sleepyā lately? Maybe youāre not as āon fireā for God as you used to be? š„
There is no judgment here but an invitation: commit today to refocus your heart and mind on actively waiting on the Lord. We will do it together!
Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
