Unspeakable Joy!Sample

THE JOY OF MUSIC
Music is certainly a gift from God. Not only does it bring joy to us, the Psalmist reminds us that music helps us praise God. Music seems to touch unknown place in our heart that often need that particular comfort or healing. Music is one of those mysterious languages that God uses to draw us to Him.
I suppose you have musical favorites that stir your soul. You probably have songs that stir emotions of joy or wonder. Songs have a unique way of reminding you of the past, family, or a special moment in time. These songs likely send your heart to places you can’t describe with words.
I pray that you allow the mysterious sounds of music to bring you great joy but, even more, to draw you to God Himself. Will you praise Him next time you experience a song of great beauty and joy?
I wrote this poem after listening to such music. I pray it inspires you and brings you joy.
SWEET SOUNDS OF MUSIC
Orchestral sounds enrapture me
from heaven’s golden shores and sea
Where troubles of today are gone
where holy sounds arise at dawn
My heart’s at rest when rhythm lands
so softly on my soul as sands
Oh tender cry so lyrically
emits a joy unsparingly
Stirred within my soul just now
and moves to places, not sure how
These feelings stir in pasturelands
and rise to heights, where beauty stands
Slow-motion waves of love and cheer
wash my soul and make it clear
And echo of a wondrous past
and tend my soul, with glory vast
Songs bring longings of a day
when all that’s here will pass away
And rise above that golden shore
with strings and sounds we can’t ignore.
