THE JOY OF KNOWING I'M LOVED

I’ve often settled for a very cheap version of what God had for me. Learning to receive God’s love has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my entire life. But before, there were times in my life that I rejected Him and pushed Him away. Knowing that He thinks of me, cares for me, sings over me, and works on my behalf has given me an inner joy and peace that is, at times, indescribable. I am His beloved.

You are His beloved too. You, like me, may feel unworthy or shameful of some past or current behavior, yet He stands solidly in front of us, hoping you invite Him in. No matter what kind of life or day we have had, He stands ready to wrap His arms around you and me.

Knowing and resting in His grand love brings each of us a joy that is unspeakable. May you know of His love more and more each day.

I pray this poem touches your heart as you yearn for the joy of His love.

OH, BURN MY HEART

You gave me light, I made a veil
You gave me water, I broke my pail
You gave me land, I burned your trees
You gave me lift, I shrugged with ease.

You freely give me things of life,
Yet often I turned them into strife.
Your beauty given, yet mud I adored
A grace You bestowed, yet self I hoard.

Oh, to turn from such a prize!
Or when You look into my eyes?
To miss Your love, a grave disease,
Causes my heart to shrink and freeze.

Yet, loved I am, a child of the King,
A love so enduring, my heart must now sing.

I think on Your love and smile in my heart
I know I am whole and not merely parts.
You never turn the slightest away
And bring great joy on my darkest of days.

Oh, burn in my heart, sweet Jesus I pray
I humbly shout “It’s with You that I stay!”
To relish Your love as long as I live
And thankful for all the joy that You give!
