Starting Your JourneySample

1st day
Salvation
Now that you are saved, what happens next? Does your life remain the same? What changes between you and God? Is there a responsibility from your side? What does it really mean to be a child of God? How can you be certain that you are saved?
All these questions and a couple more will be answered in this plan. Maybe you have given your life to Jesus before and you thought that it didn't go well because "religion is not for me", or maybe you have given your life to Jesus recently. No matter the situation or the timeline you are in, wherever you find yourself, this plan can act as a guideline to make you strong in your faith and help you live life as a victorious child of God.
So, what does it really mean to be saved? Well, firstly, it means that you are no longer a sinner but a saint. A sinner is someone who lives in sin and is bound by sin. But a saint means that you have been freed from sin and now you are living for a new Master. The Bible says in the book of Romans that we have died to sin and now we live for God. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross accomplished for us much more than just forgiveness for our sins. He paid the full price for your sin so that you can be free from it as well. You used to live in sin and pleased yourself, but now you have died to sin so that you can live for God. A saint is not a religious term; it is a legal term. A saint is the only person who has the legal right to approach God as a Father and enjoy all the benefits of knowing Him through a relationship.
Did you work for your salvation? Absolutely not. The Bible is extremely clear in stating that our good works cannot buy our salvation. We are saved by grace through faith. There is nothing we can do to deserve or earn our salvation; in fact, the Bible says that our best deeds are seen as filthy rags in God's sight. We cannot earn our way to God; that is what religion is doing. Religion is you trying to work your way to God. The good news is that God knew none of our human efforts can, nor will ever reach Him; therefore, He came to us. So, being saved is not by your good works in an attempt to reach God, but through God's finished work to reach you.
Salvation is the best gift God can offer anyone, because salvation is the door to an entirely new life. But the new life needs careful observation and diligence from your side. And the next couple of days will reveal exactly that, the responsibility from your side.
