Cinematic Faith: Life Lessons From the Big Screen

DAY 5 OF 7

Spider-Man: No Way Home shows Peter Parker navigating the consequences of betrayal and loss. Faced with the people responsible for harm, including his own suffering, he chooses forgiveness instead of retaliation. This decision mirrors the radical call of Jesus to love even those who hurt us.

Forgiveness is supernatural. It doesn’t come naturally, but it leads to freedom. It doesn’t erase pain or mean ignoring boundaries, but it releases the bitterness that keeps us trapped.

You may have every reason to be angry. But you also have a Savior who forgave you when you didn’t deserve it. And now he’s inviting you to walk that same road—not alone, but with him.

Pray: Jesus, you know how hard forgiveness can be. Help me release bitterness, trust you with justice, and love even when it’s painful. Make me more like you. Amen.

About this Plan

Cinematic Faith: Life Lessons From the Big Screen

Some of the most powerful stories on screen reflect the deeper truths of Scripture. Courage, grace, sacrifice, and hope—these moments echo the greatest story ever told: the Gospel. In this plan, we’ll connect popular movies with the Bible, exploring how God’s truth shines through even in the stories we watch. These films aren’t a replacement for the Bible—they’re a lens to help us see redemption, compassion, and purpose in a new way. (Fair warning: there may be some spoilers!)
