Jesus Amplified: Explore the Depth of His WordsSample

Look to the Birds and the Flowers
Jesus pointed to the birds and described how they don’t plant seeds or raise crops. They’re not concerned about storing up food, yet God feeds them.
In Matthew 10:29-31, Jesus is more specific, saying that God even cares for the common sparrow. That’s why we should never at all be anxious or perpetually uneasy or distracted by fears about the future.
After Jesus pointed to the birds as a sign of God’s love and care, he pointed to the flowers in Matthew 6:28-29 and compared them to Solomon, with all his wealth, riches, and glory. The people had seen nothing as grand as Solomon’s kingdom. Jesus said that the king didn’t come anywhere near the beauty and intricacies of a common flower.
When we think of beauty, majesty, color, and elegance, we perhaps think of a deep red rose and its marvelous fragrance. But modern electron microscopes now show us a greater beauty which is unseen to the naked eye. Now we can see amazing details of creation, making the words of Jesus make even more sense.
Prayer: Father, let every common sparrow and every flower I see always remind me of your love and care. Forgive me for my little faith. I will trust you today.
