God's PlansSample

06. The Plan of Him
What: God’s plans have purpose
Lectio. “In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will.” (Ephesians 1:11, NIV – read Eph. 1:7–12).
Meditatio. As he revealed God’s plan for humanity in the first half of Ephesians, Paul affirmed that, being in Christ, we were chosen and, according to His plan, also predestined to live for the praise of His glory.
Oratio. Give thanks because God had already planned that every detail of your life now serves for the praise of His glory. Nothing is outside the Lord’s plan; everything moves according to this predetermined purpose.
Contemplatio. Think of an architect who designs every detail of a great building, and then everything is erected according to that project. In the same way, realize that every event in your life follows God’s perfect plan in Christ.
Confessio. I have learned that by looking at what I have, who I am, what I know, and where I am, I can discern God’s will. Living according to His plan, my situation becomes a sign of the next steps I should take.
