08. Show Me Your Ways
How: God’s plans can be learned
Lectio. “Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” (Psalm 25:4–5, NIV – read Ps. 25:4–7).
Meditatio. In this carefully composed Davidic acrostic prayer, confidence in God as guide on the path of life depends on divine character: He is Savior, compassionate, and merciful.
Oratio. Pray that your hope of being guided and taught through struggles, temptations, and limitations will always be in God, for He has saved you. What He has done and who He is are your security now.
Contemplatio. See Jesus in the wilderness, suffering every kind of attack from the enemy. Watch how the Father firmly upheld the Son by the hand and protected Him until making Him mediator for the people and light for the nations. That is what He does for you.
Confessio. Many times, I thought that after being saved, I should take care of my own life and find my own way. But time and again, the Lord has taught me that He saved me to guide me forever.
