Day 4: Blessed and Not Cursed
In Numbers 23, we meet Balak, a man resolutely determined to curse the people of God. To achieve this, he seeks the help of a prophet named Balaam, believing he can manipulate Balaam into carrying out his evil desires. However, Balaam stands firm in his unwillingness because he is subject to God's will, not Balak's. As a result, each time Balaam seeks God's will, God instructs Balaam to bless the people, not curse them. Balak's relentless attempts to curse the people of God only lead to his frustration, for no curse can succeed against a people whom God has chosen.
Related to our lives, life has both joys and challenges. Despite the trials we may face, we can cling to the unwavering truth that even in our darkest moments, God remains steadfast, never leaving us nor forsaking us. Let this truth fill your heart with the hope that God’s love is infinitely more than we can imagine.
