Faith Formation Framework Series 5: Faith Prioritized by the Entire Faith Community and Leadership

DAY 1 OF 5

A Place for Everyone

Focus

Breath prayer: “Lord, make room for all.”

Listen

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:12 (NRSV)

"For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ."

Reflection:

The church is not complete without young people. They are not an add-on ministry or a separate department—they are members of Christ’s body today. When faith communities make space for youth in worship, leadership, and relationships, they more fully reflect God’s Kingdom. Every person, regardless of age, has gifts to offer. When the church truly sees young people as necessary, not optional, young people can thrive. And so can the church. The voices of youth, their questions, creativity, and energy, breathe new life into the whole body.

Apply

How can your church better include young people as full participants in its services and ministries?

Respond

God of all generations, open our eyes to the gifts of young people. Teach us to create spaces where every voice belongs and every person matters.

About this Plan

Faith Formation Framework Series 5: Faith Prioritized by the Entire Faith Community and Leadership

Young people thrive most fully in their faith when the whole church embraces and empowers them. In this final part of the Faith Formation Framework, we explore how faith communities can reimagine church life so that youth are not just included, but prioritized. From leadership and worship to belonging and justice, every part of the life of a faith community can and should be shaped with young people in mind. When we center youth, we don’t lose our identity—we remember it. A thriving church is one where every generation grows together in love.
