Obedience That Brings Joy

Deuteronomy 28:2
“Obey the Lord your God, and He will give you all these blessings:”

Obedience is a proof of love.

The Bible provides several examples of obedience, disobedience, and their consequences. For example:

Adam and Eve (disobeyed by eating the forbidden fruit and allowed sin to enter);

Jonah (did not follow God’s instruction the first time, was swallowed by the great fish, and realized he needed to return to God’s direction and do His will);

Esther (answered God’s call through her uncle Mordecai and saved the Jews);

Mary (obeyed the Lord and gave birth to the King of kings, Jesus).

The Bible says that obedience to God brings joy and blessings! Sometimes obeying is not easy because we want something different, quick, or attractive to our eyes, often contrary to God’s plan. Above all, we must be convinced that obeying God is always the best. He has already seen what we have not, and He has already been where we have not yet arrived. He is faithful, cares for us, and fulfills His promises!

Obeying God in such a corrupted world becomes a privilege — an act of love, trust, and surrender.

Reflection: Allow your obedience to take you where your faith has not yet reached.
