30 Days With the PsalmsSample

With God, everything is possible
“For by You I can run against a troop,
and by my God I can leap over a wall” (Psalm 18:29 ESV).
Life can be challenging. Especially, life as a Christian is not always easy. Over and over again we have to fight against our sinful desires, or experience spiritual attacks, or we face opposition from people around us. You may feel like you lack the power to resist all those evil influences and to continue on God’s path. You may feel overwhelmed and discouraged.
If so, let today’s text comfort you. It is not about your strength. It is about God’s. With Him, everything is possible. In fact, His power “is made perfect in weakness”. When Paul considers this fact, he concludes: “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV) David does the same: He boasts about his great God. With Him, David can do whatever he needs to do. Even utterly impossible things.
Do you still try to fight in your own power, or do you join David and Paul in their songs?
